Personal Details
Married to Rita with a son, Jonathan. Studied Pharmacy at Sunderland Technical College (now University) and qualified as a Pharmacist in 1968. Joined Boots The Chemists Ltd. in 1964 and stayed there for my entire working career up to my retirement in 2005. Following a period of relief management work in Lincolnshire my first appointment was to Windermere in the Lake District. I remained there for six years before being appointed to the store in Ashbourne, Derbyshire in 1978 - I liked what I found there and stayed! In April 2003 I decided to wind down and relinquished my position as store manager but remaining in the position of pharmacist for two further years when I decided to retire completely (40 years is enough for anyone!) Rita was also employed by the same company until we came to Ashbourne. In recent years she has worked as a receptionist at a water sports centre but following surgery on her feet has had to give up this employment.
Location of Ashbourne
Jonathan graduated from Leeds University in 2004 where he read Medicine (MB ChB) and Anatomy (B.Sc.). Despite the best efforts of the government to wreck the N.H.S. and put 30% of Junior Doctors in the dole queue he has secured a training position as a Specialty Registrar in Radiology at the Leeds and West Yorkshire Radiology Academy situated in Leeds General Infirmary.
