The bad weather (snow) and possibly seasonal hangovers kept several members away for the first meeting of the year. As decided at the AGM, all competitions would be "open" with no specific theme and placings were decided by a popular vote which revealed it to be a day for the carvers.
Peter Fantham was presented with the trophy for the previous year's competitions. The format had been changed part way through the year and it was the Chairman's decision that Peter should receive the trophy for his very original work.
